Only a few more hours left until we roll this year over into the next! And I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to see 2021 in my rear-view mirror.
The past few years have been tough for everyone. So I’m not going to waste time lamenting that. We know. We ALL know.
What I’m looking forward to most is that, for the first time in my life, I’m NOT making a New Year’s Resolution to lose weight. Even the years when I loudly proclaimed I wasn’t making any resolution at all, lose weight was still silently there. It would, inevitably, become my entire personality and, honestly? I was insufferable.
The diet industry can suck it. Seriously. I’ve removed its insidious claws from the lifelong chokehold it’s had on me. It’s taken a long time to realize that being healthy doesn’t mean taking up less space. Fuck that. I’m heroic*, healthy, and happy.
A month or so ago, I decided 2022 should have a theme. And instead of resolving to do one particular thing, my aim is to strive toward as many goals, aspirations, and plans as possible β all keeping one word in mind:
Create new things, learn new stuff, try new experiences.
I have plans for 2022 β both business (yep, that includes writing) and personal. Each quarter is brimming with more promise than the last. And my outline for Q1 is all set and ready to be actioned upon.
After all, we only have a limited amount of time on this big, blue marble. Why waste it?
Happy New Year!
*shout out to the effervescent Nicola Cameron for a term now permanently part of my vocabulary!
